Luis Figueiredo

Group Chairman

Luis has been operating in the seafood industry for over 31 years. His family’s fishing history began with the operation of five fishing vessels in Angola in the 1960s. In 2003, Luis and his brother Sergio’s entrepreneurial skills and vast experience in the processing and production of seafood led them to start Supapackers, now known as Atlantis Foods Holdings. Today, as the Chairman of Atlantis Foods, Luis remains committed and passionate, not only about the business, but also about the industry in which it operates.

Neil Pascall

Managing Director

Neil’s career started at Federal Marine as the Management Accountant. In 1996, he took a position as Financial Manager at Breco Seafoods, at that point a privately owned and unknown seafood trading business. In 1999, Neil became a shareholder and in 2001 he was a key player in a management buyout. Over the years, he has been involved in numerous aspects of the business, including financial, logistics, and sales and procurement. After Breco Seafoods was sold to Atlantis Holdings in 2017, Neil was convinced to stay on during the handover process. He decided to buy a share of the business in early 2020 and became part of the exco team.

Ferdi Oosthuizen

FInancial Director

Ferdi is a registered CA(SA) and holds an MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business. After completing his articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers, he joined Media24 where he grew to hold senior positions such as acting CFO of the Media24 Magazines Division. In 2017, he accepted a position at Atlantis Foods as Head of Finance and was promoted to Financial Director at the end of 2017 upon completion of the merger with Breco Seafoods.

Dean Stacey

Retail & Foodservice Sales & Procurement Director

Dean took his first position in the fishing industry at Lusitania Fishing processing facility in 1998 as factory manager. In 2002, he accepted a position as manager SCRL, Cold Store and Quayside at Premier Fishing, eventually in the role of Group Logistics manager (SCRL, WCRL, Squid, Hake, Abalone and Cold Store) and Managing Director of Premier Fresh. Dean joined Fish On Line as a director and shareholder in 2008, taking responsibility for the procurement and sales. When Lonrho bought a 51% share in Fish On Line in 2011, Dean stayed on as director and shareholder, becoming the MD by the time he left in 2015 to join Breco Seafoods as the business development director. As the current Sales & Procurement Director, he is a dedicated and well-connected industry specialist.

Robert Zive

Wholesale Sales & Procurement Director

Robert Zive joins Atlantis Foods as a director after having spent 26 years in the fishing industry. He has spent last seven years as the managing director of Snoek Wholesalers.
Robert kicked off his career at Snoek Wholesalers in 1996 after earning his Bachelor of Business Science at UCT. In 2002 he started Blue Atlantic Trading as a subsidiary of Snoek Wholesalers where he initially served as the Sales Director, eventually rising to the position of Managing Director. In 2017, Blue Atlantic Trading merged with Snoek Wholesalers and Robert was appointed Managing Director. As a people-oriented leader, Robert values his long-standing relationships in the industry and stresses values such as integrity, transparency and resilience as most central to his ethics in business. Robert has taken part in several endurance events such as Comrades and Iron man, and describes these events as mental, rather than physical, challenges.

Barend Engelbrecht

Atlantis Foods General Manager

Barend Engelbrecht, Atlantis Foods General Manager, who has a passion for mentorship, subscribes to service leadership and values teamwork, loyalty, and authenticity.
Barend started his career in sales and management, working across various industries. Over the last 25 years, he has held senior management positions in established businesses covering a range of industries, including coatings, construction, and the food industry.
His extensive management experience is underpinned with a BEcon Degree from Stellenbosch University and a postgraduate certificate in management from Henley Business School.

Kubie Pieterse

Wholesale Sales Manager

She is our spirited Wholesale Sales Manager. Kubie has been with Breco Seafoods, which later became Atlantis Foods, for 18 years!
She started her career in the fishing industry by at a deep-sea trawling company, gaining valuable knowledge of the fisheries sector in KwaZulu-Natal.
Her career path includes positions at Lusitania Food Products in Durban and Sea Harvest Corporation, covering the coastal regions of KZN and Eastern Cape.

Luiz de Gouveia

Retail Sales Manager

A passionate sports supporter and former law enforcement officer, Luiz worked in business of fishing for 20 years, getting involved in numerous fishing and seafood operations in Mozambique, Durban, Elands Bay, and Lamberts Bay.
In 2015, he joined Supapackers as the retail sales manager, leading his team to outstanding growth over the following seven years.

Michelle Geldenhuys

Key Account Sales Manager.

Michelle Geldenhuys joins us from Snoek Wholesalers as Key Account Sales Manager.
Coming from a family of fishing industry veterans, Michelle started her career in the cold store. She quickly moved into sales, eventually settling into a procurement position at Lusitania Food Products, a company and position she thoroughly enjoyed.

After 12 years with Lusitania, she took up a trading position at Blue Atlantic Trading and enjoyed the family environment so much that she stayed for 14 years. Blue Atlantic Trading merged with Snoek Wholesalers in 2017.
Michelle loves nurturing her client relationships and describes herself as loyal, dedicated and organised.

Andre Cloete

Procurement Manager

Andre is our Procurement Manager, who is passionate about building effective service-oriented teams based on robust process, clear objectives, and relevant analytics.
He started his career in management consulting and project management but over the past 20 years, he has been focused on FMCG supply chain management, mostly in the food and beverage space.
Andre’s tertiary education includes a BA Degree with Honours (cum laude) along with a BCom specialising Logistics.

Karen van Wyk

Financial Manager

Karen van Wyk is our reliable and committed Financial Manager. She is passionate about numbers and has a particular interest in how a small change can often have a major impact.
As a qualified CA, Karen worked in the auditing industry for the first few years of her career, followed by some time in the private sector.
In the decade up until 2021, Karen gained experience in a number of industries, including laboratory equipment, luxury food, fishing, and home security.

Sadiqa Fredericks

Sadiqa Fredericks, an energetic and highly motivated professional, demonstrates unwavering commitment to learning and personal growth. With a cum laude Bachelor of Technology in Food Technology, a diploma in General and Industrial Psychology, and an ISO9001 lead auditor’s course, she’s a valuable asset.
Currently heading quality and new product development at Atlantis Seafood Distributors, Sadiqa’s career spans impactful roles in microbiology, quality management, and production. Actively contributing to the SABS T0234 committee, she is also pursuing a law diploma, showcasing her dedication to continuous improvement.

Leon Nebbe

Operations Manager

Meet Leon Nebbe, our Operations Manager with 29 years of diverse experience in FMCG. Starting as a trainee manager, he discovered a passion for transport and logistics, including several years in sales.
Leon excels in the technical aspects of the business and finds fulfilment in building exceptional teams.
Outside work, he enjoys watching the Proteas and Bokke on Saturdays and indulges in steelwork during his spare time.

Financial Accountant & Business Partner

Carla Mostert, our Financial Accountant & Business Partner, holds a BCom in Financial Accounting, BCom Honours in Management Accounting, and is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA).
With experience ranging from South African SMEs to a London-based firm and a solar company, Carla’s passion lies in automating processes for enhanced focus on analytics and model building.
