  • Supapackers is founded in Southern Africa as a seafood processing and packing facility.
2006
SEAFOOD PROCESSING PLANT

  • A seafood processing plant is established to increase the business’ value proposition to both local and export customers.
2011
MASCATO INVESTS

  • Mascato, a Spanish fishery and marketing company, becomes a minority shareholder, which allows the company to access new markets and gain access to quality products.
2012
SUPAPACKERS

  • Supapackers expands its retail business to serve major retailers in South Africa.
2015
LONRHO

  • Lonrho, the Pan-African investment company, becomes a minority shareholder through the successful merger of Lonrho’s local seafood retail business, Oceanfresh and wholesale business, Fish on Line
2016
NAME CHANGE

  • The name of the company changes from Supapackers to Atlantis Foods
2016
ATLANTIS WORKERS TRUST

  • Atlantis Seafood Products is sold to the Atlantis Workers Trust in a BEE transaction in which 100% of the factory’s economic rights are transferred to the local community
2017
ATLANTIS FOODS AND BRECO SEAFOODS MERGE

  • Atlantis Foods merges with well-known seafood importer and distributor Breco Seafoods; this provides expertise in seafood procurement, trading, cold storage, logistics, and capital strength.
2019
KHANYISILE FISHING

  • Khanyisile Fishing is sold to the Employee Trust

OPERATIONS

  • Operations are consolidated and streamlined for rapid expansion

SNOEK WHOLESALERS

  • Atlantis Foods acquires Snoek Wholesalers
